Grafiora

You can delete your Grafiora account at any time, in the app. Here is how, and exactly what happens.

Deletion cannot be undone. Your account and everything that only you held are erased at once and for good. Memories you added to a family shared with others stay with that family.

In the app

  1. Open Settings, then Account, and at the foot of the screen choose Delete account.
  2. Grafiora shows what will be erased and what your families keep, naming each family. Choose Delete my account.
  3. Unless you confirmed it’s you in the last few minutes, Grafiora asks you to, with a new code sent by text message to your phone or to your verified email address. Then choose Delete account and Delete my account again.

The deletion happens immediately: you are signed out on every phone, and if your account has a verified email address we send one last message to it saying the account was deleted.

If you can’t sign in

If you no longer have the phone number you sign in with, first try recovering your account with your verified email address when you sign in. If that isn’t possible:

  1. Send a message to support@grafiora.com with the subject Delete my account, and include the phone number you signed in with. If your account has a verified email address, send it from that address.
  2. We confirm the request came from you before acting on it: by replying to your account’s verified email address, or, if it has none, by agreeing another way with you to verify that the account is yours.
  3. Once confirmed, we delete your account within thirty days and let you know when it is done.

If you would rather keep your account but remove particular memories, you can delete those yourself in the app; a deleted memory is erased permanently thirty days later.

What is erased

  • Your account: your phone number, your name, and your email address if you added one.
  • Every sign-in session, on every phone, and your account’s security record.
  • Invitations you sent, and the invitations you accepted (each names your phone number).
  • Any family in which you are the only member, with everything in it: its people, memories, photos, videos, books and membership records.
  • Memories, photos and videos of yours that were already in “Recently deleted”.

What a shared family keeps

A family with other members is their record too. Memories you added to such a family stay with that family, since removing them would take them from the people you chose to share them with. What changes is that your name is no longer attached to them, and you are no longer a member. If you were the family’s last owner, the member who has been in it longest becomes its owner. If you want particular memories gone as well, delete them in the app first, or ask a family owner to.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Server logs that mention your requests expire on their own within a few days and contain no content.
  • If you asked by email, our reply to your request, so that we can show it was carried out.
  • Our database is backed up so that it can be restored after a fault. Those backups roll off on their own: any that still contain your account expire within seven days of the deletion, and we never restore a deleted account from them.
  • Nothing else.
